#1 FESTIVAL DE “ESPANTOS ROBLEDEÑOS”
A Territory That Turns Fear Into Living Memory
On June 29, 2025, the village of Robledo (Trujillo, Valle del Cauca, Colombia) became the magical setting for a one-of-a-kind cultural event: the First Festival of Robledeño Ghosts, a community-led celebration that brought together oral traditions, local art, and territorial identity through the symbolic power of myths, legends, and supernatural tales from the region.
This festival was made possible thanks to support from the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Knowledge – 2025 National Cultural Agreement Program, and was led by Fundación PRO-CULTOUR, in collaboration with community leaders, elders, artists, volunteers, local schools, and families from Robledo.
Social innovation model that promotes the development of leadership capabilities (communication, direction, coordination, planning and organization), organizational knowledge (financial, marketing, logistics, human talent) and tourism competencies (customer service, guiding, accommodation, restoration ) for the “good living” of those involved in the territory, promoting the responsible management of natural, human and cultural resources and the revaluation of heritage (gastronomy, traditional architecture, crafts, customs, folklore, fairs and parties).” which consists of especially participatory workshops with the community exploring its territory.

Key Achievements:
Over 300 participants joined the Cultural Scavenger Hunt “Inú’s Legacy”, an artistic route with creative stations inspired by Robledo’s traditional ghost stories, combining theater, literature, music, crafts, painting, and oral storytelling.
More than 200 “Spirit Passports” were handed out and stamped, serving as a symbolic and visual memory of the day’s journey.
The event fostered community-based art projects, such as a collective mural, an open stamping session, and workshops on screen printing, traditional crafts, and theatrical makeup.
It strengthened collaboration between local organizations, educational institutions, youth groups, and public allies, leaving valuable skills and tools in the territory.
The experience was documented in community video capsules, created by children and youth from Robledo using cellphones, creativity, and teamwork.
